Philadelphia PA:  The NFL is getting ready for week 2 of the preseason this week and some teams are having joint practices. The Philadelphia Eagles are one of those teams that are having joint practices during training camp as they are hosting the Baltimore Ravens as they play them on Saturday at Lincoln Financial Field. On Thursday head coach Chip Kelly spoke to the media about the joint practices with the Baltimore Ravens and who would start in their second preseason game against the Baltimore Ravens on Saturday.

The press conference started about who will start on Saturday night  & Chip said “The plan is to have a great day today. We haven’t decided how much guys will play on Saturday” then he was asked about Sam Bradford “No setbacks at all for Bradford since start of Training Camp. The Eagles haven’t had to pull back.” Then he was asked about Trey Burton in saying that “Trey Burton has stepped up. Moving into third tight end role. He’s a really good offensive player”

Chip would go on to say “likes the preseason schedule this year because of the chance to see Luck, Flacco and Rodgers – three of the best QBs in the league.” Later on the Tim Tebow question came out and was asked if Tebow would take any reps with the special teams & Chip said “No special teams reps for Tim Tebow”

There has been a lot of talking about teams doing these joint practices and the outcome of them doing it & you have seen during some of the practices that massive fights have broken out. Chip was asked about practicing with the Ravens “We wanted to work with the Ravens because they are so stout and so strong. Good work for our players”

There has been some major injuries that happened so far in the preseason and Chip was asked about his players getting injured during camp and he said “We spend an inordinate amount of time monitoring our players from a sports science standpoint, trying to maximize the performance”

During the press conference, Chip was asked about Earl Wolff & said that he was meeting with the doctor today  and said that he would not take part in practice, the he would go on to say “I think for Earl it’s frustrating. I feel bad for the player. The only thing we can is evaluate who is available” Chip was asked about Ravens QB Joe Flacco and said “Flacco is one of the elite quarterbacks in the league. A big human being. Tough to bring down. So poised in the pocket.” Then he also said that “It’s a great test to play against Flacco. Our secondary will be tested and it will be good work for them”

The press conference ended about how Jerome Couplin is doing after having a appendectomy and he said “No ill effects, He returned this week”

During Practice, Eagles LB Marcus Smith suffered a hamstring injury during a special teams drill & he will get a MRI on it on Friday
