Philadelphia PA: The Philadelphia Eagles family and the entire NFL is still mourning the loss of one of the greatest Eagles to ever play for the franchise as Chuck Bednarick passed away early Saturday morning at the age of 89.  He played on the 1960 Eagles team that won the NFL Championship which gave Vince Lombardi his only career playoff loss.

On Monday the Philadelphia Eagles & Chuck Bednarik  family released funeral details. There will be a public viewing  on Thursday, March 26 from noon to 4 p.m. and 6 to 9 p.m. at Connell Funeral Home, located at 245 E. Broad St., Bethlehem, PA 18018. The family will have a private mass on Friday, March 27 for friends and family.

Bednarick was one of the most devastating tacklers in the history of football and the last full-time two-way player in the National Football League, Bednarik played for the  Eagles from 1949 through 1962, he won 3 championships with the Eagles, 1948,1949 & 1960, got  inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1967 (his first year of eligibility).Bednarik Eagles number, 60, has been retired by the Eagles in honor of his achievements with the team and is one of only eight numbers retired in the history of the franchise.
