Philadelphia PA: This offseason for the Philadelphia Eagles has been one of the most crazy and drama filled ones by some of the moves that head coach Chip Kelly has made which includes trading LeSean McCoy and QB Nick Foles and get QB Sam Bradford, RB DeMarco Murray and CB Byron Maxwell. There has been a lot of speculation in what the Eagles were going to with their pro bowl guard Evan Mathis who was a no show for OTA’s the last couple of weeks.

On Thursday the Eagles ended all the questions as they released Evan Mathis who had 2 years remaining on his current deal which was 5  year $25.5 million contract which he signed back in March 2012. There has been couple reports of the Eagles trying to trade Mathis and apparently they did not like what some of the teams were offering or there was not much trade value for him and some reports that Mathis was not happy with his contract which he was going to make $5,500,000 this season.  In TXT message to Comcast SportsNet Philadelphia Geoff Mosher (@GeoffMosherCSN), Mathis said  “Yep. Flight was scheduled for Monday.” about attending next week mandatory minicaps

Evan Mathis went on Twitter saying the following

During his 3 years with the Eagles, Evan Mathis played 57 games and he missed 8 games in 2014 due to a  MCL sprain. which he suffered in the Eagles 34-17 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars in week 1 of 2014 season. With Mathis gone, the question is who is going to take over on the O line and the answer is Allen Barbie and Matt Tobin.
