Philadelphia PA The Eagles had an off day from training camp on Wednesday after going hard the last 3 days including yesterday in front of crowd of 20,000 at Lincoln Financial Field for 1 of 2 open practices held at the stadium. Before Tuesdays practice, Chip Kelly said that were “looking to bring another guy in right now”  The Eagles made a roster move to help the defense as they signed OLB Diaheem Watkins from UAB and at the same time they placed LB Travis Long (torn ACL) on Injured Reserve

Diaheem Watkins played in 37 games during his 4 years at University of Alabama in Birmingham where he had 146 tackles (95 Solo tackles with 51 assist tackles)  with 18.5 career sacks. Last season in 12 games played, he had 46 tackles (33 solo tackles with 13 assist tackles) with 10 sacks.

The Eagles expect Diaheem Watkins to take part in practice on Thursday & will wear number 45.
