Philadelphia PA: As the rest of the NFL teams report for their training camp that means that Football is almost back, the Philadelphia Eagles would make some news to finish up week 1 of Training Camp practice at the NovaCare Complex, On Friday the Eagles would announce that they have signed running back Darren Sproles to a 1 year extension through 2017 season at $4.5M. This season, Sproles was entering the final year of a 3 year $10.5 million he signed in 2014.

Darren Sproles said to Philadelphiaeagles.com about signing the new deal “Being one of the oldest guys on the team, to know you’re going to be here a little bit longer, that’s a pretty good feeling,”

During the 2015 season, Sproles had 83 rush attempts for 317 yards and 3 rushing touchdowns against the Jets, Bills & regular season finale against the Giants & he also had 55 coaches for  388 yards and  1 receiving touchdown which came in the loss to the Buccanners, Sproles also had 2 punt return touchdowns against the New York Jets & New England Patriots.

Since signing with the Eagles in 2014, Sproles has made the Pro Bowl & led the league in punt return yards in 2014 & 2015. Sproles has also have returned 2 punt retunrn touchdowns in back to back seasons making him the only player in Eagles history to have multiple seasons with at least two punt return touchdowns.
